If you are a newbie to poker, then you must understand that there are several things that you need to know. Until you are entirely aware of the poker hand sequence, you must not start playing the game. So let us understand the poker hand rankings and their importance. You need to keep one thing in mind that the poker hand ranking is nothing but the highest possible order of winning hands. In total, there is eight potential poker sequence, which includes the royal flush, straight flush, Full house, four of a kind, two pair, one pair, flush and straight.

What are the probabilities of occurring of poker card ranking?

Royal Flush – It is one of the rarest of poker hand that has an odds of occurring once in 6,49,737 times. It can also be said that royal flush is one of the best poker hands on a gaming table. Let me tell you what a royal flush means. Suppose you have five cards: ace, king, queen, jack followed by 10, and all should be of the same suit, then it is called a royal flush.

Straight Flush – It is nothing but a continuous poker hand sequence of five cards that belongs to the same suit. The odds of occurrence of straight flush are 1 in 72,193.

Four of a kind – If you have a hand where four-card shares the same rank of a different suit and the fifth one can be any random card. Under these circumstances, it is known as four of a kind. The odd for the occurrence of four of a kind is 1 in 4164.

Full House – Under this hand, you need to have three of a kind along with a pair. The odd for the occurrence of a full house is 1 in every 693 turns.

Flush – A flush is called when you have five non-consecutive cards of the same suit. The odd for a flush is 1 in 508.

Straight – It can be said that straight is the complete opposite to flush as you need to have consecutive cards that are not of the same suit. The straight is six in the hand order, and the odds of occurrence are 1 in 253.

Three of a kind – The hand with three cards of the same rank is called three of a kind, and the odds for occurrence are 1 in 46.

Two Pair – Suppose you have two cards of the same rank that is paired with another set of two cards of the same ranks is known as two pair. The odds occurrence is 1 in 20.

One Pair – The hand is known as one pair if you have two cards with the same rank and the other three have any other random card. The odds occurrence is 1 in 1.36.

High Card – If you do not fall under any nine hands above, then it is evident that you are holding a high card. The odd for occurrence is 1 in 0.99 times.
