The quality of dress shirts is determined by the cloth used in making it i.e. better the quality, long the life of the shirt. Artificial fibers such as Polyester made dress shirts tend to last longer in comparison to linen made or cotton made; however, cotton and linen offer higher comfort level to the men wearing them. Affordability is another factor that determines whether certain cheap shirts is made using prime quality cloth or spurious available cheap cloth.

Dress shirts that are made using high quality cotton survive for decades if given proper care and maintenance; however, these cannot be considered ideal when working in demanding situations. In demanding situations polyester or cotton blended dress shirts are highly suitable. Nevertheless, those who live in hot and humid climatic regions should wear linen dress shirts for the reason that these reduce the heat and humidity impact on human body.
Cotton made dress shirts are not only cheap but also provide higher comfort level to the persons from hot and humid areas. A major issue with cotton shirts is that these wrinkle heavily. Silk on the other hand is an expensive cloth that is used in making dress shirts. Silk shirts are ideal for winter season for the reason that these are quite warm. As cotton made or silk made dress shirts wrinkle a lot, these need to be ironed out to remove any wrinkles.

Generally, dress shirts are tucked in; however, some people do not like to tuck in – for such men short shirts can be considered ideal. Short dress shirts can be tucked in and taken out as per the wish of the person wearing them. Men working in corporate companies, civil servants, diplomats, politicians, etc.
