Engineering is one of the most pursued fields in India. Every year, more than 10 lakh candidates appear for engineering entrance tests. However, the limited number of IITs, NITs, and other top government engineering colleges can take only some thousands of students.

The rest of the candidates usually seek admission in the private engineering colleges of the country. Admissions in these colleges are held through several rounds of counsellings, depending upon the number of available seats in B.E./B.Tech. Candidates are shortlisted based on their scores in a particular entrance test and class 12th board exams. There is an adequate number of private institutes that offer quality education for various engineering specialisations. Some of these colleges and universities feature among the top private engineering colleges ranked by NIRF and India Today.
