Wiper blade description

There are many different types of wiper blades, such as standard wiper blade, spoiler wiper blade, flat blade, flat blade upgrade (or modification). Here, we have some explanations of the different types and their uses and applications. Not every wiper blade can be used on every type of vehicle-so please use our vehicle search to find the right wiper blade type for your car.

Standard (or conventional) wiper blades

Standard wipers are the most common type of windshield wipers, often referred to as looking like hangers, and are still installed on most new cars, although this situation is declining. They are usually connected to the vehicle using hook-shaped wiper arm accessories. The size ranges from 10" to 28", and it is not uncommon to install different sizes on the driver and passenger side of the windshield. If you have installed these parts, you can easily replace them with another set of standard wipers or new flat wiper blade upgrades-as described below.

Spoiler wiper blade

These types of wiper blades have full spoilers that extend the length of the blade. This helps bring the blades closer to the windshield at higher speeds and is usually only designed for the driver's side. Likewise, they are usually fixed to the vehicle by hook-shaped wiper arm fittings.

Modified flat wiper blade upgrade

The plane wiper blade has a brand-new style and technology and quickly becomes the standard configuration of new cars. These types of wipers do not have a metal "hanger" shaped frame. Instead, they have tensioned metal strips inside the rubber structure of the wiper. This design makes the aerodynamic shape flatter, thereby reducing wind noise. The internal metal strip exerts constant pressure along the length of the blade and has a built-in spoiler. Compared with the traditional wiper, it is smaller and obstructs the driver's vision.

Hybrid wiper blade

Hybrid wipers combine the aerodynamic shape of flat blades with the sturdy structure of conventional wipers. The hinged plastic frame forms the aerodynamic "skin" of the wiper. This can make the airflow smoother, which in turn produces a uniform downward force over the entire length of the blade. Under this skin is a steel substructure, which provides firm support for the rubber wiper element. The ingenious design allows the entire wiper to be bent to the shape of the windshield, resulting in a smooth, efficient, and quiet wiping action.

Flat wiper blade

The plane wiper blade has a brand-new style and technology and quickly becomes the standard configuration of new cars. These types of wipers do not have a metal "hanger" shaped frame. Instead, they have tensioned metal strips inside the rubber structure of the wiper. This design makes the aerodynamic shape flatter, thereby reducing wind noise. The internal metal strip exerts constant pressure along the length of the blade and has a built-in spoiler. Compared with the traditional wiper, it is smaller and obstructs the driver's vision.

If your vehicle is newly installed with these types of wiper blades, you can only replace them with similar types of flat blades. They will not have hook-shaped wiper arm accessories. The most common types of wiper arm accessories for flat wiper blades are "side pin", "bayonet", "pinch blade", "button", and "slider".

Wiper blades of the specific size

Dedicated Fit wiper blades are usually substituted for original equipment and are designed for specific vehicles. Many rear wipers are unique in design and need to be replaced with this type of wiper. We also provide double packs for the front of certain vehicles that require curved wipers, uniquely shaped spoilers, or special accessory adapters. They can be regular or flat wipers and will be shown in your car's list of available wipers when applicable.

Rubber refill

The refill contains only the rubber part of the wiper blade and is intended to replace the existing rubber element. However, simply replacing the refill is a low-cost alternative to replacing the wiper blade. Replacing the entire blade is usually easier, faster, and usually produces better results. Avoid changing the refill too many times, because the upper structure of the wiper blade will become weaker over time. These refills cannot be used to refill the new flat wiper blades.
