Different Kinds of Treatment for Cancer to Know About!

Cancer can be treated, and there are other ways to treat it without chemotherapy. In many cases, the chemotherapy takes a back seat to the other treatments with a mild side effect. Due to the availability of new treatments (including the herbal treatment for cancer) and advances in personalized care, the oncologist can better tailor the cancer treatment to each patient and the type of cancer they have.

Surgical Treatment

It is the foremost option for most kinds of cancers other than blood cancers. Some expert surgeons remove all or most of the solid tumour. It is an incredibly effective treatment for early-stage cancers that have spread to the other parts of the body. Although it depends on tumour size, most patients with stage-first cancer do not need any other treatment except for surgery. Surgery can play a role in cancer treatment even when the treatment has spread beyond the original site. It also depends on cancer and the stage. The minimally invasive surgery may be an option.

Precision Medicine

Oncologists have used targeted therapies which are also known as precision medicine. It helps to tailor the medications for each individual patient and cancer. A tumour or the blood sample is tested to identify a genetic profile. It allows the doctors to give the medication, which would target the genes that cause the diseases. There are five or six gene systems that turn cancer on or off. However, with genetic testing, we can find out the medicines to use which one not to use. The medication that is delivered in the pill form or the IV form, either destroys the cancer cells to stop cancer from growing further. Targeted therapies can be used at any stage as a first treatment to keep the disease from coming back if the disease returns.

Supportive Care

Supportive cancer care is a useful complement to the standard treatment that reduces the physical and emotional stress of cancer treatment. Psychotherapy and massage therapy can help the patient’s anxiety as they are coping with the diagnosis. Acupuncture can be beneficial for pain relief. Nutrition and diet counseling can keep the patient from losing too much weight during the treatment and keep the body as much healthy as possible.

Finally,

Aromatherapy, fitness classes, hypnosis, and herbal treatment for cancer are a few treatment options.
