A New Era of Work at Home EntrepreneursPosted by Myounus on August 15th, 2010 For many people, caught up in the global
recession, having to work at home has become a necessity rather than a choice.
For some, the transition from working in an office to working at home is a
fairly simple matter. A case of exchange seats, as it were. For others, it is
somewhat more difficult. Jobs like programming, writing,
proofreading and many more can be very easily accomplished from home, while
others, like construction, motor mechanic, driving trucks and dozens more, can
not. The task of choosing what type of job to
do from home can be a daunting one. One of the first difficulties would be to
decide what type of work to do. This could involve re-training in a completely
different field, which may be totally foreign to anything a person has done
before. Attention should be given to the fact that during training, there will
be little or no income being earned, so choosing a new career should not be
entered into lightly. So how does a person find out what type
of work they can do from the comfort of their own home? Searching the World
Wide Web will turn up thousands of sites all claiming to make anyone a fortune
if they adopt their particular scheme. Many of these sites are scams, who will
disappear after taking money to supply the so called Secrets of Success. There
are a few who have genuine work from home enterprises and great care should be
taken to research and isolate these few good ones from the vast majority of
unscrupulous operators. There are a few precautions that may be
followed in checking whether a company is above board or not. Legitimate
companies have no problems in supplying street addresses for their premises,
telephone and fax numbers, or an E-mail address and the name of a contact
person. If these are not given, don't even bother with the company. Once a person has decided what type of
work they are going to do from home, the next stage would be to find out if
there are any regulations about running a business from a residential dwelling.
Checks should be made at the local municipality. If the business involves
writing, proofreading or any other business that will not disrupt neighbourhood
activities, there should not be too much of a problem. However, the neighbours
may not take kindly to a string of vehicles pulling up at a particular address
at all hours of the day and night to pick up or deliver parcels. Once a home business has become
established and money is coming in, provision needs to be made for paying
taxes. This, of course, will be governed by local regulations and a certain
percentage of any money earned will have to be put aside to pay these taxes. Working at home has become a major
industry in the developed world, and even in some third world countries. The
rise of the Internet has seen phenomenal growth in this industry. It has opened
up huge markets worth billions of dollars to so many people willing to take the
steps necessary to find out how to take advantage of the opportunities offered. Like it? Share it!More by this author |
