Windows 7 is an improvement over many operating system versions, intending to address the criticisms faced by its forerunner. Its interface was efficient enough keeping in mind its redesigned taskbar that allows applications to be on secured side with new window management countenance. Supplementary features introduced to the operating system such as libraries, file sharing system, Home Group and support for multi-touch input. Feature introduced such as “Action Centre" interface was added to increase the system security with maintenance information. Windows 7 also transported with streamlined versions of numerous hoard applications together with IE, Windows Media Player and Windows Media Centre. Compared to Vista, Windows 7 is praised by top experts system with many key improvements over its forerunner owing to its increased performance and intuitive interface with other improvements across the platform. Windows 7 Professional being a major success for Microsoft Corporation, its pre-order sales for Windows 7 Professional on big online retailer like Amazon.com had outstrip the records. In just few months, over 100 million copies had been sold globally creating it the most broadly used account of Windows. Certain visages that were a part of Windows Vista are no longer used in Windows 7. Four applications that was there in  Windows Vista—Windows Photo Gallery, Windows Movie Maker, Windows Calendar and Windows Mail are not included with Windows 7.

Windows 7 Professional newly added features such as touch and handwriting recognition, prop up for virtual hard disks with improved multi-core processors, enhanced boot performance, Direct-Access and kernel improvements are commonly added features. Multiple miscellaneous graphics cards, a new version of Windows Media Centre with improved media skin tones are included.  Statistics modes along with unit conversion for length, weight and temperature are included.  Display Colour sequence Wizard, Gadgets, Recovery, Troubleshooting, Workspaces Centre and other features are also added in this version. The taskbar of Windows 7 Professional all the principal visual changes and old Quick Launch Toolbar has been replaced with the capability to brooch applications to taskbar. Window management in Windows 7 has more than a few new features:  Snap maximizes a window when dragged at the top of the screen. Libraries are added for file management tasks where users can gather files from multiple folders into the library. Its improved globalization holds up through a new Extended Linguistic Services to provide multilingual support. Microsoft implemented improved support for solid-state drives with new TRIM command
