Phi Phi island diving is a great place to dive if you want to be close to Koh Samui, as it is close to many essential dive sites. It is also one of Thailand's best places for those who want a more relaxed way of scuba diving than you are used to.

It is also possible to dive in Ko Tao instead of taking a day trip, but in fact, most of the dive centres on Koh Samui will make you dive. There is nothing special about it, and it can be pretty easy to dive so you can dive it in a few hours or even a few days.
