In you happen to stay in Jiyang Town area, you can join the crowds on visiting the Baiyue Ethnic Cultural Village, which tells the unique Hainan ethnic cultures, linger in tropical rose gardens and go on a leisurely hike across the flowery scenery at Yalong Bay Tropical Paradise Forest Park.

All of these and more are only short trips nearby and can be easily visited as half-day trips.

The park is densely forested with tropical and sub-tropical vegetation. Footpaths and raised walkways wind through the trees, with lookout spots dotted along the way giving spectacular views of Yalong Bay, Haitang Bay and the surrounding valleys.

Attached to the park is a luxury hotel, the Earthly Paradise Bird’s Nest Resort, so there are a number of dining options available from the ‘Health Buffet’ included in the ticket price to the hotel’s Thai, Western and Chinese restaurants (reservations essential).

There is also a range of activities available including climbing, team building, a sightseeing bus and a shopping street to buy souvenirs.
