Make the skies safer with FAA drug testing consortium

In any company, the employer would like to have a drug and alcohol free environment. But it becomes all the more necessary when the safety of public lies in their hands. The Department of Transport is a public service and their employees are committed to render their services in the safest manner. They might be truck drivers, pilots or ship captains and they are responsible for the safety of the people who have belief in them. To keep up to the standards of the public’s views, drug testing for the employees of these services is extremely important. Like other public sector companies, the aviation sector too has FAA drug testing consortium which tests its employees of any illegal drug or alcohol consumption during working hours.

Drugs can not only cause damage to a particular person’s health, but it can also cause severe accidents when he/she is under its influence. Especially, when a person is working for a public agency, drug testing becomes extremely important as life and safety of hundreds of people lies in his/her hand. It is the duty of the employee to see that if he/she is working in the transport department, then it is his/her duty to create a safe working environment for co-workers as well as the public.

The FAA or the Federal Aviation Administration was set up to provide safe, effective aerospace to the world and for that FAA drug testing consortium was given responsibility to take care of the drug testing for aviation employees. The employees are tested under the Omnibus Transportation Employees Testing Act of 1991 and by DOT and FAA regulations (49 CFR part 40 and 14 CFR part 120). The drug testing laws and regulations are under the strict lens of The Drug Abatement Division which oversees the employees of the aviation industry.

It is not at all necessary on part of the employer or the employee to display the test results in public. The employees are randomly selected for drug testing and the results are totally confidential. Without the written consent of the employee, the employer or the testing agency cannot disclose the test results publically. If the employer releases the test results, then it is mandatory to inform the employee of the same. The testing is done in reliable laboratories and the results are fair. In case you are not satisfied with the result, you can complain to the Drug and Alcohol Program manager of DOT agency.

The FAA drug testing consortium often tests the employees even before they are recruited for their jobs. As drugs and alcohol has become extremely common with youngsters, the aviation companies cannot take any chances with the life of hundreds of people on board. They are tested by trained FAA doctors and the person goes through a simple physical and eye test.

The FAA drug testing consortium provides a drug free environment to the company and the drug testing helps those who are addicted to it to come out of this deadly trap.

The skies are in safe hands with pilots tested from FAA drug testing consortium, who have passed out fairly well from drug testing of any illegal kind.
