Although the cause and effect relationship between coffee and liver cancer directly is unclear, it may be that coffee reduces the risk of liver cancer inadvertently by reducing the risk of diabetes. Diabetes is the most common risk factor for liver cancer, and coffee is well known to reduce insulin sensitivity and tolerance to glucose. Surprisingly, coffee drinkers can reduce their risk of diabetes by as much as 23%-50%!
