Qiankou is located in the Huizhou District, Huangshan City, Anhui Province, 60 kilometers away from Mt. Huangshan, is an epitome of residences of the Ming Dynasty. It covers an area of 16,000 square meters and centralizes 10 representative buildings of the Ming dynasty scattered in Huizhou. Known as the "Museum of Dwelling Houses of Ming in Qiankou", it remains the original style feature both architecturally and culturally.

Those houses here originally belonged to people of different social ranks, among whom some were high-ranking officials or businessmen. Since ten ancient houses built in the Ming and Qing Dynasties is scattered in different places within the boundaries of Mt. Huangshan City, with the efforts of the government, these houses have been disassembled there and reassembled here strictly following the original shape, even to the details. The complex is a collection of an arch bridge, a curb pavilion, three ancestral temples and four dwelling houses.

Although each of the components has a different background and history, the components of this architectural are situated in accordance with Mt. Zixia and show us the entire garden-style of Qiankou Residence in a harmonious way. Just like people said,” if you wanted to see imperial palaces, go to Beijing; while if the old residences, then come to Qiankou."
