A Domestic electrician is trained to undertake domestic electrical work, such as the installation and replacement and maintenance of electrical parts. As a Domestic Electrician, you can undertake tasks such as house rewires, and all scopes of internal and external electrics i.e. lighting and sockets. After you have become a qualified domestic electrician, you can work either self employed or potentially for a company who only cover residential installation work. Both routes to employment have benefits e.g those employed by a company such as British Gas may have a more steady salary, however self employed electricians often earn more overall.
