Part of the Hasbros mission is to make toys, great games, entertainment and lifestyle products that are enjoyed by people across all levels of the population. It intends to be the leading toy and game company in the world, to be number one provider of play, number one marketer and partner to all customers. It is already achieving this mission if recent reports are anything to go by. I would derive greatest satisfaction to be a part of this noble mission. Some of their toys and games are enjoyed all over the world. I would like to be a part of the great success. If I were to be in same situation as Belanger, I would not enjoy my job as much, since it would be a routine, doing the same thing over and over again. I would like to be deployed in marketing department, as this would give me the opportunity to travel a lot, and have fun as well.

Working at Hasbro would be fun and a great source of satisfaction, knowing full well that I work for a company listed among the best one hundred companies to work for. The company preserves its game products through generations, updating them if needed. It rewards its employees for their loyalty. It would be the greatest motivation for me. What is more, my job would be easy, just a simple process of manufacturing Monopoly, Operation, Scrabble and Mousetrap, the main games that the company manufactures.

To improve the job satisfaction at the plant, the management should inject a good proportion of the million into technology. It will reduce the manual way of doing things that is currently witnessed at the plant. Most of the production would be digitalized to break monotony. In order to remain competitive, they would bring on board some of the technology in use in China, so that much of stuff does not go there. Since it is the only toy manufacturing company in the USA, it should expand business to create more jobs. Afterwards, long-serving employees, similar to the ones mentioned in the case study, will be rewarded by increasing their pay and other incentives, such as pensions and health schemes. It is due to the fact that retaining old and long-serving employees is easier and more cost-effective than employing new ones. It can be done in two ways: first, giving out long service awards to employees, who have worked in the firm for more than 20 years. Second option is offering attractive employee benefit packages in their entire service career.

Job satisfaction depends on the amount of money a worker receives. Some people are motivated by money. Comparing Daviau and Belanger, the former has a senior position to the latter. It is only natural that he gets more motivated since he earns more money. He has also stayed in the business longer, and unlike Belanger, is more experienced in its operations. Daviaus job brings more satisfaction, since it involves some creativity, unlike Belangers position, which involves a lot of monotony. Being a designer of games is more interesting and well paying. In fact, in his own admission, he derives much satisfaction from his job, which involves re-inventing the games in order to be at par with the games from a few competing manufacturers at the moment. His job entails broad knowledge and the ability to apply technology in design, so as to remain competitive. On the other hand, Belangers job is monotonous, involving doing the same thing every day, such as putting game tokens, and plastic bags of dice in a monopoly set, as the machine collecting them whizzes by. Nonetheless, it is a precise calculation she has mastered over the years she has been with the company.
