What is polyester powder coating? What are the advantages?

It is a tough alternative to conventional paint for giving the final finish to a product. Polyester powder coating actually is paint in powder form where polymer based powder is used. It can be applied on any surface which is not usually affected by heat.

How is it applied?

An electrostatic gun using compressed air pushes the powder particles on to the surface that is to be painted. The object is kept grounded so you are able to apply powder coating uniformly and provide a better finish. By charging the powder positively you ensure that the paint is attracted and adhered robustly. It is then kept in to the oven for curing so the powder goes through chemical reaction and forms a skin on the surface and becomes hard after cooled.
