What is a Retreat?

Retreat is spending a couple of days or more in solitude. Retreat is taking a break from fast monotonous and hectic life schedule. It is dedicating special time to oneself in peace and calmness. Retreat could be because of the following reasons or more:

  • Retreat could be taking out time from the busy and hectic day of work.
  • Retreat could be spending time to spiritual enlighten oneself.
  • Retreat could be moving away from family, friends, children and responsibility.
  • Retreat could be spending some time in tranquility.
  • Or, retreat could be to escape from all hardships and bad emotional phase of life.

Why are retreats important?

Retreats are important because it lets us get connected to both our inner and outer self. It gives access to both the dark and brighter side of our feelings. It helps us to know ourselves better and discover the ways in which we should grow in happiness and love. It is reflecting upon one’s life over a prolonged period of time. Retreats are like an awakening of oneself. Retreats not only revitalize and refresh us spiritually but it also motivates us, helps us to be emotionally, physically and mentally strong. It also builds our confidence to fight back any sorrows or hardships in life. It gives us time to stay connected with ourselves.

Why should one go on Retreats?

Every individual should go on a retreat once a while. It not only refreshes our minds and heart but also helps us discover that empty space within us that we knew always exited. Retreats should be spending time in a far distant place, where there is complete calmness and peace. A few reasons why one should go on a retreat are as under:

  • Retreats can be time to learn new things in life, ways to lead life, do a lot of reading, and be creative in life.
  • Retreats are important as it helps us to learn about priorities in life. Retreat put all things in perspective- the less important and the more important ones.
