Popular Literature & Fiction Sub-Categories - Relative to Each Other

So what are the most popular categories in Literature & Fiction that most people recognize? Which works of literature seem to be constantly re-appearing on best-sellers lists year after year? And that works seem to appeal more to readers than others? These are questions I try to answer through this article, and I hope you find this information to be useful. The most common "Popular Fiction" sub-category seem to be recent releases, with many authors such as J. Wes Watson, Paul Kersey, Charles Dickens and Mark Twain appearing regularly. Interestingly, I noticed last year that there were very few new popular fiction & poetry books released. This seems to indicate a lack of interest by readers for new literary tastes, whereas on the opposite side, a long time favorite may be "out of sight, out of mind" so to speak, so perhaps it is good that older favorites are not always on every book shelf. There are a few different ways to classify popular fiction & poetry books. Based on sales, I would estimate that sales of recent releases easily outnumber those of long established classics. Additionally, I would estimate that the page count of each book serves as a good indication of the popularity of that title. echoes of love fiction that have a large page count, such as Shakespeare, will generally command a higher price than a work with a lower page count. In addition, I would expect that a work of non-fiction that has a high page count will always retain its ranking due to the general word-of-mouth advertising technique that works better than any other advertising medium.
