Getting the Mental Edge at Work with Neurofeedback

If you want to get the edge at work and improve on your overall mental performance, then you may be interested in investing in Neurofeedback sessions to help yourself to improve your brain functions. Neurofeedback is the next big thing amongst elite and executive level businessmen, as it helps them to harness the power of their brain in order to improve efficiency, productivity and thought.

What is Neurofeedback?

Neurofeedback involves performing special tasks to "exercise" the brain and improve brain function. Individuals are connected up to special sensors which detect and measure their brainwaves. When their brainwaves are correctly balanced, the computer will reward the participant with positive feedback. This will help the brain to learn correct behavior through constant positive reinforcement. Ultimately, the client will be able to sustain their newfound skills for longer and longer, until they are able to make use of these skills in an external environment away from the training system. These effects are long term effects, and there should be no evidence of regression following the completion of Neurofeedback training. This sort of training is completely painless, and the whole experience is designed to be as comfortable as possible for the client. When completing this type of training with an established provider, all care should be taken to make sure that your experience is an overall pleasant one, as this should help with the learning uptake.

How long does Neurofeedback training take?

Typically, a standard Neurofeedback session will last between 30 – 45 minutes, as this is the optimum length of time to help the brain make the most of the training that it is receiving. Different clients will respond differently to the training, so the amount of sessions required seeing quantifiable effects will differ from patient to patient. Although some clients report that they begin to feel different after just 1 -5 sessions, most patients require around 15-20 Neurofeedback sessions in total.

What can Neurofeedback help with?

As well as helping to provide you with the edge in your work life and home life, Neurofeedback has also been used as a method to treat a number of different mental health symptoms, including; irritability, negativity, impatience, concentration, appetite issues, quality of sleep problems, fatigue, short term memory issues, depression, Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Whilst Neurofeedback is not guaranteed to cure these problems completely, it can help to alleviate symptoms or make them more manageable.
