IVF in Thailand Offers Couples the Best Chance of Having a Family

Posted by Hailey on February 16th, 2021

In vitro fertilization (IVF) offers the most effective chances for hopeful couples all over Thailand to conceive. IVF in Thailand is a process of several steps that take about three weeks to complete. While nothing is certain when it comes to the human body, for women under age 35, the success rate of IVF worldwide is just under 54 per cent. For women ages 35-40, the success rate is between 26 and just over 40 per cent.

This means for couples having trouble conceiving naturally, the best course of action is to begin IVF treatments in Thailand sooner rather than later.

There are many causes of infertility. For women, these causes can include fallopian tube blockage or damage and uterine fibroids, which are benign tumors in the walls of the uterus. It can also be caused by ovulation disorders when fewer eggs are present for fertilization, and endometriosis, which is when the uterine tissue grows outside of the uterus.

In men, it can be caused by below-average sperm counts and abnormalities in the size and shape of the sperm. In both genders, infertility can also remain unexplained despite testing for the most common causes. Your doctor can advise whether you’re a suitable couple for Thailand’s IVF fertility treatments.

How Do You Prepare for IVF?

Before you can embark on the process of IVF, both partners will typically be screened for various facets that will determine the likelihood of success. Women will need to undergo ovarian reserve testing to determine the quantity and quality of their eggs. This test typically includes a uterine exam which entails having an ultrasound or hysteroscopy (viewing the uterus through a thin, flexible camera) to predict how they will respond to fertility medication and treatments.

Men will have to undergo a semen analysis to reveal whether the semen is viable for IVF treatments. And both partners will undergo an infectious disease screening to ensure neither of you has a disease which could be passed to the embryo.

What does IVF Entail?

Once the testing phase confirms that IVF is a viable option, the doctor removes mature eggs from the woman’s uterus, places it under a microscope and fertilizes it with sperm from the male partner. The procedure can be done with donor eggs and sperm as well. The use of a microscope is to ensure the eggs are fertilized. Once a living embryo is created, the embryo is implanted into the woman’s uterus.

The number of embryos transferred to the woman’s uterus typically depends on the woman’s age. The older the woman, the more chances that having multiple embryos implanted will result in at least one of them surviving to full term. Multiple embryos can be removed and frozen for future implantation.

Your doctor can further explain the details, risks and preparation for IVF in Thailand. But for couples looking forward to having a family, IVF offers the best chance of conceiving and bringing to term a healthy baby.
