Glam and Cozy: How To Dress for Evening Holiday Parties

Posted by printdress on January 30th, 2015

It's that time of year again, and all anyone can think about is dressing up for the next big holiday party. The only problem is that many of us live in climates where it, uh, gets cold in the winter, which makes dress for evening parties a little complex. Save your derriere from frostbite and dress for evening engagements in style with some fantastic holiday tops.

Be sure to have a good solid dress pant in black or grey wool (wool is warm without being bulky) or a nice pair or dark-wash or black jeans on hand. The neutral bottom will let your holiday tops really shine and keep your legs nice and cozy at your next holiday party. Dress for evening cold by stealthily wearing leggings or tights underneath your pants.

-Lace Holiday Tops: Lace pops up somewhere on the runway every season, and for good reason: it's elegant, sexy, and a stylish holiday party pick.  Be sure to find a good camisole to wear underneath your this holiday party pick so no one gets a peep show. Also, dress for evening elegance and stick to delicate jewelry so as not to overwhelm the lace.

-Asymmetrical Holiday Tops: Show off some skin when you dress for evening events with an off-the-shoulder top. This season, you can find them in a variety of creative cuts and prints perfect for your next holiday party. Don a pair dangly earrings to maximize the bare-shoulder effect.

-Belted Holiday Tops: Belted holiday tops are big this season and lend a flattering hourglass figure to the wearer. Holiday party picks feature bright colors or special detailing. To avoid looking too business casual, dress for evening festivities by pairing a belted top with some great heels in a metallic or jewel tone.

- Halter Holiday Tops: Many of this season's halters have beautiful ruffle or ribbon details that are perfect for a festive holiday party. Necklaces look downright bizarre with halter tops, so dress for evening glamour by accessorizing with cool earrings, bracelets, or rings instead.
