What Are The Documents Required For FSSAI Registration?

FSSAI Stands for “Food Safety and Standard Authority of India. FSSAI is an Independent organization under the Ministry of Health. FSSAI Registration is mandatory for every business owner or entity that is eligible for an FSSAI food safety Registration or License.

The Foods Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) was set up under the Foods Safety and Standards Act of 2006 to maintain the quality and standards of food among the food businesses in India.

FSSAI Registration/License is mandatory for anyone who intends to do food business. There are some required documents to submit while registering for FSSAI license.

Required Documents for obtaining FSSAI registration

  • FSSAI declaration
  • Photo Identity of FBO
  • Proof of possession of premises (eg. Rental Agreement )
  • Partnership Deed / Certificate of Incorporation / Articles of Association etc.
  • List of food products to be dealt with.
  • Food safety management system plan

Personal information of Food Business operator

  • PAN Card: Copy of PAN is mandatory identity proof
  • Passport size Photo
  • Copy of Aadhaar Card/ Driving License Voter identity card/ (Either of the three)

The documents for the various Food Business Operators are required to submit along with the application of the FSSAI Registration and the FSSAI License.

To maintain the food quality levels in order to ensure the safety and satisfaction to every consumer is the aim of every Food Business Operator. The FSSAI Registration or the FSSAI License is essential for the Food Business Operators. FSSAI License is a 14- numbered digit, the whole process of registration takes a minimum of 7 days without the inspection. However the inspection takes place, the procedure may take 30 to 45 days.
