Health Care Policy

The author of the article under analysis of https://primeessays.com/research-paper-assistance.html states that the U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor has made a request to the federal health administrators to conduct the investigations of cases dealing with the issue of denying children adequate health care in Florida. She asserts that the state deliberately ignores the policy that has been validated by the judges ruling, proving that Florida’s insurers violate the federal laws systematically when it concerns the needy people.

The ruling held noted that the state insurer for the needy people was so inadequate that the majority of doctors left the program. As a result, poor and disabled people were left without proper and professional treatment. Many children have to wait for the appointment or apply for the privately funded programs in order to receive proper medical treatment. The lawmakers and others involved doubt that the state regulations and healthcare plans provide the qualified providers and services the children need.

As an employee of the Hospice Company, I am not directly influenced by the policy as we mainly work with the aged citizens who need extra help in satisfying their basic needs. However, we support the policies and efforts of the Republican Party as it has long struggled for the advance of the Americans with disabilities as well as with those who reached old age. They commit themselves to the inclusion of the disabled people to all aspects of national life. They lobbied the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) that has opened the unprecedentedly large opportunities for students all over the territory of the USA. They also urge prevention efforts in the early childhood that go far beyond the realm of the Act.

According to the Republican Party activists, many stakeholders might differently perceive the enforcement of the new policy rules introduced by the judicial decision. Thus, the public opinion might differ depending on the person and his/her income. Whereas poor and disabled people, as a target group of these innovations, would perceive the new changes with eagerness as it meets their expectations, the rest of the residents might be concerned about the finances that would be cut from the expenses that previously were made for them.

As could be inferred from the article, the government of Florida State obviously lacks money to implement the programs aimed at the providing care for the disabled and poor children. However, most probably, the state government intentionally deprives needy children of appropriate care in violation of the federal laws. In the ruling of judge, there is evidence proving that the lawmakers have set budget at artificially law level, forcing pediatricians and the other health care professionals to leave the program due to the insufficient financing. Therefore, in this case, the local government would be severely blamed for such discrepancy and unwillingness to provide children with care they deserve in accordance with the federal laws.

The article in question also concerns political, socioeconomic, and legal frameworks. The federal laws have been repeatedly violated for years and, undoubtedly, the charges should be pressed against those guilty in these misdeeds. Politicians should ensure that more public control and surveillance is performed in regard to the medical treatment of people who cannot afford health care services or people with special needs. From the socioeconomic point of view, the government and health care agencies at both federal and state level should find a way to fully cover the expenses needed for children with disabilities in such a way that others would not be left unattended. In general, the issue is extremely sensitive and needs attention of many professional from different areas of public life.
