Wall Layout Saw Basics

Once the wall layout saw has been purchased and the appropriate cables attached, the job can begin. Many machines allow the operator to manually adjust the cutting depth and speed for a perfect job. It is important to watch this closely and adjust the machine as necessary during the job. The speed may need to be slowed down in some cases to ensure accuracy. If there are any parts that need to be cut in more difficult places they can usually be adjusted without slowing the machine down. This makes a perfect combination of power and finesse.

Cutting on a horizontal wall requires the use of a jigsaw which has special attachments to allow it to cut at a specific angle. There are special fixtures available to hold the blades at this angle. The angle needs to be adjusted so that the cut is smooth and effective. Most saws will adjust this automatically. The angle and the distance between the blade and the surface need to be carefully watched during the job to ensure the job is accurate.

A vertical wall requires the use of the jigsaw that has an attachment that allows it to cut a precise pattern into the wood. This is much harder than a horizontal layout as there is a lot of cut out required to make a perfect fit. It is possible to add extra jigs to the side of a vertical job by putting them on a stand. These help to cover areas that would otherwise be difficult to reach and clean up afterwards. This is much safer than laying a horizontal wall and also allows a more efficient use of space.
