Kinesio Tape Helps in Treatment and Management of Back Pain, Neck and Shoulder P

Kinesio tape, also known as elastic therapeutic tape, is a medical tape that contains an acrylic adhesive for the purpose of treating the disability and pain in the body. It is widely used to treat back pain, shoulder pain, and neck pain as well as to aid wound healing after surgery. Kinesiology tapes are designed to be used as short term or long term therapies for various purposes. They are also used to help prevent re-injuring the same area by aiding in compression of the areas that have been injured or damaged.

The benefits of using Kinesio tape to help with back pain, neck and shoulder pain, and other ailments are that it works with the natural strength of your muscles. By creating a layer of friction between the skin and the muscles, it can help to increase the flow of blood and oxygen throughout the affected muscle groups. It has been proven to be effective against muscular strains, sprains, bruises, and broken bones. Many chiropractors, acupuncturists, athletic trainers, podiatrists, physical therapists, and other professionals utilize the tape for its benefits.

Kinesio tape is primarily used as a means of helping to reduce swelling and inflammation while increasing circulation and helping the skin to heal more effectively. Since it aids in compression of the areas that have been injured or damaged, it is beneficial for improving the function and health of the muscles. Some studies have shown that the following benefits of using kinesiology taping are especially helpful for those suffering from lower back pain:

Kinesio tape helps the patient to relearn proper posture and movement patterns. While using kinesiology taping, the physical therapist is able to identify the problem areas, work on exercises to improve the weak areas, and apply compression to the injured areas. By doing so, patients can expect to see improvements in their range of motion, balance, flexibility, endurance, strength, and body awareness.

Kinesio tape helps to elongate muscles, strengthen weak ones, and restore range of motion that has been compromised due to injury. The tape works by providing an increased level of friction between skin and muscle tissue. By providing this friction, the muscles are stretched to the limit and the injured area is supported while recovering. Kinesiology tape is also beneficial because it helps to control swelling, bruising, and the associated pain associated with these conditions. Since the tape provides an increased level of friction between the tissues, the muscles have a greater chance of being elongated and returning to normal size.

Kinesio tape helps to rehabilitate an injured ligament. When a person suffers a strain or ligament injury, the muscles are stretched out and eventually damaged. In some cases, the tissue surrounding the injured ligament can rupture and cause additional pain. When using the Schooley Says Kinesiology Tape, therapists are able to place pressure on the area of injury, while stretching the ligament. Eventually, this healing process begins and the pain associated with the ligament injury is relieved.
