The most popular style for cabinets is Shakers-style. It is famous because of its elegant, sophisticated yet contemporary and classic looks. The trademark characteristics of this style include the flat-planned doors with delicate handles. Most of the shakers-style cabinets are made of high-quality woods with a highly polished surface. This smooth surface allows the cabinets to be cleaned easily and hence increases their durability.

If you are a fan of antique and old-fashioned things then distressed kitchen cabinets are perfect for you. These cabinets have distressed looks, the corners of the cabinet doors are rubbed off to create a feel of the old-fashioned look. Its finishes of the kitchen cabinets create the ambiance of the antique and traditional era.

  1. Flat- Panel or slab

These types of kitchen cabinets are also known as slab cabinets. It is named flat- panel because the door of these kitchen cabinets is kind of flat and it has panels, hard lines, and minimalist form. The key feature of this style includes the fact that the slab doors don’t have any frames, rather they have simple solid slabs as represented by their name. These cabinets are also simple yet stylish but it don’t have heavy carving designs. They give a solid and neat look to the kitchen.

Beadboard is made of rows of vertical planks with ridge known as beads between each blank. It offers a very dynamic look than other types of kitchen cabinets. These are perfect for farmhouse and cottage style kitchens but it should be kept in mind that these are hard to clean.

  1. Thermofoil 

Thermofoil cabinets are moulded out of medium-density fiberboard (MDF). These are synthetic sheets of MDF wrapped in a plastic coating. These are very affordable and durable. It comes only in solid colors and is very easy to clean. Although it is waterproof and very little maintenance is required but it has very poor heat resistance. So it should not be installed too close to the heat source.
