Healthy Prepackaged Snacks; a Must for Tennis Tournaments

So, your son is going to join his first one-day tennis tournament. You may be thinking of going with him but, you know that will just embarrass him. You can probably follow and be there as a spectator. You were a kid once and you know how awkward it is to be with a sports parent.

You can be the perfect sports parent before he leaves the house. Now let’s prepare a tournament checklist.

1. Equipment

He needs 2 tennis rackets, one for use and the other as reserve in case he breaks the strings on the first one.

He needs tennis shoes. It doesn’t have to be new or clean, it just has to be regulation because some tennis courts won’t allow people to play unless they are wearing tennis regulation shoes that won’t damage the courts’ surface.

2. Accessories

He needs a cap. The tournament will run the whole day and he will surely have a schedule sometime close to noon.

He needs sweatbands to keep his sweat from flowing to his eyes and hands.

He needs 2 towels, one that is small enough to bring on court and one big enough for toweling down during change-overs.

He needs several shirts so he’ll be wearing a fresh one at the start of every game.

3. Food

The tournament will last the whole day and the only way he can last is by having meals in between games.

Tennis tournament schedules are very indefinite. Unlike other sports that have a definite time frame, tennis matches can be short or long depending on the length of the rallies and how closely skilled the competing players are.

Definitely, you cannot prepare a regular meal for him as he may not have time to finish and digest it before the next game starts. What he needs are quick easy healthy snacks which he can munch on in between games or even during change-overs when he might be feeling low on energy.

Ordinary snacks like apples won’t do much for an athlete during competition. What your son needs are healthy prepackaged snacks that will provide him with carbohydrates that can easily be transformed into useful energy so he can play his best game throughout the day.

One good source of such sports snacks is 110 Athletics Sports Nutrition. It is a company that focuses on active young athletes. They have a lot of fun snack ideas that are not only very effective in supplying extra energy but, are also delicious. They come in vanilla and chocolate flavor.

Prepare all these stuff early so all you need to do is clap and be proud of your son at the tournament.
