The Falls formed as the Nile forces its way through a gap in the rocks only 7m wide, and tumbles 43m, before flowing westward into Lake Albert. The falls also host the largest protected area in Uganda, Murchison Falls National Park. The Park was created in 1952 and is dominated by savannah, woodland and tropical forest habitats which host over 76 mammal species and over 450 bird species. It is a magnet for ardent birders in Uganda because of the rare species it has. The falls also offer one of the best spots for photographic holidays and honeymoon in the country. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is located in South Western Uganda at the western side of the Rift Valley. It is Uganda's most scenic national park and the most spectacular feature within this bio diverse park is the mountain gorillas. Aside from the gorillas; it also hosts several other creatures including 310 species of butterflies, 51 reptiles, and 10 primates varieties. Bwindi Park is also a prime birding destination for bird watchers. It hosts 350 species including the rare Albertine Rift endemics such as the African Green Broadbill and Shelley's Crimsonwing. It is best gorilla tracking destination in Uganda. Rwenzori Mountains Rwenzori Mountains dubbed "Mountains of The Moon "lie in Western Uganda on the Congolese border. It rises to a height of 5,100 meters and lies 4 degrees north on the Equator. It has permanent snow and glaciers. There are several scenic trekking routes on the mountain. Hiking the Rwenzori is an experience you need not to miss on holiday in Uganda The Source of River Nile The Nile River is a major north-flowing river in North Africa, generally regarded as the longest river in the world. It flows north through Tanzania, Lake Victoria, Uganda and southern Sudan. The main source is the White Nile one of the Nile tributaries originates in Uganda. It contributes with 16%, but this is a more steady flow. Mgahinga Gorilla National Park Uganda's smallest and probably most scenic National Park is situated in the extreme South-Western corner of the country, forming part of a large conservation area that includes Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda and Virunga National Park in Democratic Republic of Congo. Mgahinga's most exciting and memorable activity is tracking the mountain gorillas in the thick jungles. The park also contains at least 40 species of mammal and 79 bird species.
