Scamalot: The Newest Web Series by James Veitch & A Must Watch!

Posted by jamesveitch on March 15th, 2021

James Veitch, the famous UK-based comedian and a techie by nature, brings us a “web series” this time to track down an e-mail scam with his most powerful weapon: humour. He’salways been vocal when it comes to intrusive marketing and “Scamalot” is yet another attempt to deface the spammers whocontinue to invade our security and peace of mind.

The web series - available to watching on Amazon and YouTube - features Veitchboldly doing where few comedians have gone before: a journey into the unknown(what happened when he hit “reply” to an e-mail from an internet scammer.) We all face that dilemma don’t we? Whether to reply or delete spammy marketing messages that include everything from messages professing love and adoration from beautiful people, requests from people pretending to be your friends saying they’re marooned on an island somewhere, spam links that can hack your bank account, social profiles, social security number, and much more.

James Veitch, through an ongoing series of posts, will help you become an email scam detectiveable to identify spam messages and handle the scammers with skill and, probably, aplomb. When he became fed up of receiving scam e-mails, he decided to hit back by replying again and again – playing the scammers at their own game. The renowned comedian leveraged his humorous sensibility to tackle the scammers and, if you’re anything like me, it will get you laughing hysterically.

Yet beneath his humour is a deep-rooted problem: modern marketing is exceptionally intrusive, cunning and falsified to a level where people become frustrated, agonised and preyed upon. The objective of this web series is to help people understand that certain marketing messages are spam and, no matter how irresistible they are, you should refrain from replying to them and/or falling into the trap.

When you receive an e-mail, it is important to check the following – who sent the message? Do I even know the person or do I use this service? If it’s someone I know does the person sound like the person I know? Is the message vague or suspicious? Why are they sending me this message, and what will happen if you reply to the message? By detecting e-mail spam and handling it smartly, you will be able to protect yourself from the intrusiveness of modern marketing. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is what James Veitch conveys so brilliantly through Scamalot.  Watch and enjoy.
