Rare Earth Metals are Largely Made Up of Elements Rather Than Simply Minerals, t

The rare earth metals, also known as the rare earth metals, or rarities, are a collection of 17 nearly identical silver-like, silvery-white, malleable heavy alloys. This metal is used in all fields and industries, it is used for the creation of almost all kinds of ceramics, including sinks, cookware, plates, cups, and platters. Even dentistry supplies and dental crowns are derived from rare earth metal. Because it is so hard to come by, these rare earth metals are highly valued by collectors and connoisseurs of fine arts. Yet despite the extreme value placed on these minerals, they are also highly environmentally invasive. In many ways, this is an example of nature's ingenuity in balancing out the Earth's eco-system, but with some bad unintended consequences.

Mining and burning for rare earth metals are not only detrimental to the environment, but it is also extremely dangerous to humans. While Rare Earth Metals have been found in several places on Earth, their highest concentration in human-made habitats can be found in China, India, the United States, Australia, and Brazil. To extract the elements, the ore must be taken from beneath the earth's surface, often by hand digging up the deposits with shovels or other large tools. Afterward, the ore must be transported hundreds, even thousands of miles away, through a process known as "fracturing". Once the rare earth minerals are gathered, they are sent all over the world to be put to use in everything from aeronautics to cosmetics.
