Take advantage of free weights: Many gyms don't allow people to bring their own dumbbells and barbells into the building. However, there are plenty of free weights available for home use. If you have basic strength training equipment, you can easily put together your own home gym. One of the best tips for working out at home with free weights is to use heavier weights, but do less reps. That will not only keep you from getting bored, but you'll also get stronger.

Set up a routine: Most people don't get the most out of their workouts if they try to work out every day. If you're trying to lose weight, for example, you should focus on weight lifting early in the morning and again late in the evening. You can vary these workouts in order to keep from getting bored. The tips for working out at home with a home gym are simple to follow, but many people get overwhelmed and give up before they reach their goals.
