If it does so, it’s in working condition. Doing it regularly serves two purposes: checks pressure and clears out debris. On the other hand, if the valve doesn’t let out a big burst, it indicates some problem. Immediately contact your plumber for a checkup. 

Drain The Tank

It is good to drain out almost one-quarter of the water tank of the heater each year. Doing it is easy: turn off the cold water supply and use a garden hose to the drain valve. Run the water until it seems clear. Regular draining is suggested to clear away the sediments and restore the performance and heating efficiency of the water heater.

Use Of Water Softener

Homeowners also consider water softener installation to enhance the lifespan of their water heaters. You should do it for many reasons:

• A water softener prevents build-up of minerals inside the fixtures, pipes and heater tanks.
• Use of softeners also reduces the build-up of soap films and detergent curds in sinks, washing machines, and bathtubs.
