College football playoff is a system that was put to determine the national championship. It is a knockout tournament with four teams every year. The committee of the university approved a plan of four teams on college football playoff. The teams play in two semifinal games. Each winner moves to the college football playoff national championship game. College football national champion has always been tricky to determine. Coaches and press agree on the top sport fairly. But things get messy when there is a disagreement over who won. 

When the year-end, people differed over who should win the championship. To avoid conflicts and misunderstandings, National collegiate athletic associations came up with a solution. They introduced the bowl championship series. They used equations to choose who they thought was the top two teams in the nation. The teams chosen would play the National Championship game. But just like before, not everyone agreed with the bowl championship series. They did not recognize the winners as a true winner. 

The four teams are selected by members of the college football playoff. They include Athletic directors, Coaches, and sports leaders. Committee members are selected from different polls using computer ranking. This is to avoid discrimination when choosing the teams. They serve for few years and other members are selected.

The two semifinal games rotate between few major bowl games. At the end of the section, the national collegiate athletic association bowl championship is picked. They participate in college football playoffs. The national championship games were played few days after the semifinals. The winner is awarded the college football playoff trophy.

There are many ways a football team can do to qualify for the college football playoff. Here is the thing they should do to increase chances to qualify for the college football playoff:

Power five conferences are the athletic that are in national collegiate athletic association and football bowl subdivision. make sure to win these conferences. they are not sure bet on making it to the college football playoff but can help.

Don’t lose

Losing once is okay but if you have two or more it will reduce the chances of making it to the college football playoff. Although is better to win the conference is important.

Strength of schedule

It is very important to have a strength of schedule. Coaches should not discriminate among the teams. The important thing for college football playoff is to have more exciting games for the national championship. The selection of committee rank is done considering the strength of the schedule. Although they also make a comparison of results to see which teams are comparable.

Lack of fair football playoff to decide national champions has led to protest. That why fairness and justice have been our priority. If one member of the coaches has any connection with the college football playoff, the bowl will pick the replacement.

After the four games played in the tournament two winning teams are chosen. Two winners of the semifinal games will meet in the national championship. These-final games happen annually through the bowl games.
