Can a Pediatric Chiropractor in Ocean County help with Colic Treatments?

Posted by Jason Norman on March 19th, 2021

There has been a lot of talk lately in pediatric journals about the potential for chiropractic treatments being useful in helping to remedy colic. Colic is, of course, the generalized inconsolable state which infants can enter, or they don’t stop crying no matter what you do. This is, in fact, what led to the stereotype that babies just scream and cry all the time, unless they are eating or sleeping.

They do enter. Were they will do this, but generally, they can be consoled with a little bit of patience and care, they simply cry like that because it’s the only response they know to make two unpleasant stimuli. Remember, babies are not sentient or intelligent creatures, that is something that is acquired with enough sensory input and time alive, and they haven’t had time for that yet. There is no intellect in there yet, only instinct.

However, one of the prime crux is of colic treatments Monmouth County have been chiropractic for some time, and is getting more attention across the world, as is reflected in the affirmation pediatric journals. The question is, if traditional attempts to placate these infants with things like pacifiers, singing, rocking and so forth don’t work, can chiropractic really do anything?

After all, they are certainly too young to have back issues or joint issues yet right?

A common theory related to chiropractic treatment…

I want to preface this was stating that these are purely theoretical things, and they are slightly French, and certain chiropractors across the world have gone a little too far into the mystical side of these theories, which is given chiropractic treatments a bad name unfairly. That said, there is a theory that proper chiropractic treatments can serve to improve the flow of oxygen throughout the body, as well as align the nervous system better for better transmissions of signals throughout the nerves.

If this is true, this would result in the body functioning better, as there is less attenuation in the signal, and the us less pain, discomfort and everything else that comes with it. Theoretically, this could also be beneficial to mental health as well, as the brain is just part of that electrical system.

However, the issue is that this is a modern, scientifically-flavored interpretation of something like Chi and other East Asian concepts of energy flowing through the body. Thus, a little bit of skepticism and a grain of salt should be taken with these theories. However, there have been quite a few instances where this has seemed to work with small children, meaning that a pediatric chiropractor Ocean County may indeed be able to help a particularly colic-stricken infant.

It is important to bear in mind that only a pediatric chiropractor, such as a pediatric chiropractor Ocean County should be turned to for this, as the bodies of infants and small children are exceptionally fragile, and the concerns with realigning spines, joints and the nervous system are significantly different with bodies this young and fragile.
