Can I get a tourist visa on arrival in Oman?

 Oman is a great country, indeed. The great culture, history, and pristine landscapes make the country a popular tourist destination. The Islamic culture and their hospitality add to the aura of the nation that attracts thousands and thousands of tourists every year. To visit Oman, like every other country, you’d need an Oman visa.

Citizens of 71 countries were previously eligible to obtain the Oman tourist visa on arrival. Those countries included the European Union, Japan, United States, etc.

However, the government then announced the electronic visa system that would replace the old visa system. Earlier, however, the citizens could opt for both an e visa as well as the visa on arrival as per their needs. Then again the government stopped issuing visas on arrival from February 2019 at the majority of entry points.

After this move by the government, also provided a grace period for the tourists who were unaware of the fact that the country had stopped issuing visas on arrival.

In November 2019, the government finally put an end to the issuing of visas on arrival by notifying everyone that the people wanting to visit the nation for tourism purposes must obtain a visa beforehand by applying online.
