Now that you know more about Carl Daikeler, let’s talk about healthy eating.

What is healthy eating? Healthy eating is eating a well-balanced diet that leads to weight loss, improves your physical appearance, and reduces risk for chronic diseases like diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and cancer. A healthy eating plan includes balanced consumption of fruits, vegetables, fiber, fat, and salt. It is recommended that you eat six small meals per day rather than three large meals.

What kinds of foods should you eat to keep you healthy? The most important element in a healthy eating plan is the number of calories you consume. A diet that is high in calories but low in nutritional value is not likely to help you lose weight or maintain it.

Most people get too much salt and too much sugar and too much salt, and not enough fiber. To make matters worse, American eating habits are currently made with processed foods as the main source of calories. Processed foods are high in fat, sugar, and salt, all of which are associated with risk factors for heart disease, diabetes, stroke, and cancer. A healthy eating plan would include lean meats, whole grains, fruits, vegetables, nuts, and legumes.

Most healthy eating plans also include a balanced diet, which means consuming a wide variety of food groups. This is not the same as a "balanced" diet, which is determined by how much of any nutrient a person gets. You can have all the nutrients that you want and still be malnourished if you get too much of one nutrient. For example, you can eat plenty of pasta but have low levels of fiber.

Eating the right number of calories is not just about what you eat; it's about what you don't eat as well. Too many calories make you overweight and causes you to burn through your calories faster than they can be used. It can lead to high blood pressure, cholesterol problems, weight problems, joint pain, and other health complications. In fact, being overweight is one of the leading causes of ill-health in the United States today. Changing your diet and making healthier choices can help you lose weight and keep it off.
