Wipes for Baby Care - Bathing a Baby

Since they have such soft skin and are so naughty, newborn babies despise facecloths. You should wash your baby's face with moistened cotton balls or disposable wipes until he or she is one month old. When a soiled diaper is removed, you can use one of the sponges for the face and the other for the buttocks section.

If you want to start undressing the boy, make sure you have everything you'll need.

Since an infant's body heat is easily lost, it's important that the room in which the infant is held is warm and free of draughts from open windows or doors. It's a good idea to have a thermometer on the wall. Since babies' skin is so sensitive, they get diaper rash at some point. The rash is typically caused by prolonged contact with stools and urine. To get rid of the rash, a doctor can prescribe an ointment. Diaper rash can normally be avoided by applying a small amount of petroleum jelly to the baby's diaper area after a bath, and by inspecting and adjusting the baby's diapers often to avoid contact with urine and faeces.

Newborn babies' skin is often dry. The condition can be relieved by gently massaging baby oil into the skin. However, monitor the oil on the baby's ankle first to ensure there isn't an allergic reaction.

Cradle cap, a yellowish, greasy crusting on the baby's head, should be handled when the baby is bathing. Massage some oil into the baby's scalp after he or she has been nursed and keep it on for several hours before the next meal. Scaling should be simple to remove with a fine-toothed comb by then. Shampoo and clean the baby's scalp before gently drying it. Brush the baby's hair with a brush.

Reassure the baby during bath time by speaking quietly. Loud noises and rapid, jerky movements frighten a newborn child, who responds by crying.

When dressing the infant, be gentle with him or her. Babies tend to be unclothed.

Since the baby may be crying and stiff and rigid from exertion, clothing should be easy to put on and take off. Clothing that can be pulled over the head is superior to loose clothing with snap fasteners.

Kindly handle the baby with warm hands and talk quietly in a calming voice.

Most babies enjoy being in the water but despise leaving it; they weep, shiver, and display signs of insecurity. Immediately wrap the baby in a towel and hold it firmly for a few moments. This allows the baby to relax once more. Now, either on your lap or on a changing mat, slowly begin to dry the infant. Until placing the baby on the plastic mat, make sure it is covered with a fluffy, absorbent towel. Open the towel in which the baby is wrapped gently and pat dry with a second towel. Often try to keep the areas of the body that aren't being dried protected.
