FIFA 16 skipping 3DS and Vita, no news on mobile

Here’s an interesting bit of news about one of the industry’s biggest franchises: FIFA 16 may not release in handheld format.FIFA 15 Coins.

Speaking to PocketGamer, an EA representative confirmed that no 3DS or Vita version is in the works, and could not commit to a mobile game, either.

This is an interesting development, because FIFA is – or rather “was” – one of the last few great “all formats” franchises, popping up on every available platform except the Wii U, which EA seems to hold in strong dislike. Heck, FIFA 15 came out on the Wii.

Although the Vita has a ton of great titles, especially if you like Japanese games, nobody had any illusions about its performance. But the 3DS? I thought the 3DS was doing pretty well. Bit of a worry, that.MORE:Buy FIFA Coins
