The main reason behind the creation of the new highway was to alleviate the risk of choking during peak office hours on NH-8. The Dwarka Expressway is a blessing for facilitating the smooth movement between the two districts as most of the workers working in Gurgaon bureau hubs come from Delhi. 

The Dwarka Expressway would relieve pressure on the Delhi-Gurgaon expressway and arterial roads, mainly from West Delhi commuters, which experienced extreme traffic congestion. Up to now, the 18 km stretch of the Gurgaon highway is full of fliers and underpasses while work is underway over the remaining 8 km of Delhi.
