One of the things that skateboarders find most attractive about the sport is the abilities of skateboarders to do "tricks" Tricks are maneuvers that can be performed on a skatebard. There are many different types of tricks However, most of the tricks that can be done relate to a certain type of terrain that skaters interact with. There are a variety of different types of terrains that skateboarders use. These terrains include flat ground, transition, hand rails, gaps, and a ledges.

Perhaps the most basic terrain for skateboarding is flat ground. Flat ground can simply be described as asphalt with no transition. For example, a driveway could be an example of flat ground. There is a large variety of tricks that can be performed on flat ground. In fact, the amount of tricks that can be performed on flat ground is virtually limitless. However, the most basic flat ground trick is known as the "ollie". An ollie is a maneuver that allows skaters to jump off the ground. After skateboarders learn "ollies," the next trick to move on to is usually a kick flip. A kick flip is a maneuver where the skateboard jumps in the air, the skateboard does a full rotation, and the skateboarder lands back on the board. These two types of tricks can take a very long time for skateboarders to master. However, once these two fundamentals are mastered, there are many other types of tricks that a skateboarder can pursue. Click to read more e longboard

Another type of terrain that a skateboarder can pursue is known as transition. Transition can come in many different forms. However, one of the most common types of transitions is known as a half pipe. A half pipe is a ramp that has two inclined planes with a flat bottom in the middle. This type of structure has been made famous by Tony Hawk, a professional skateboarder.

Many skaters have found ways to skateboard on actual handrails. Skateboarders such as Leonardo Romero have made handrails popular in the skateboard world. Although this type of skateboarding is usually frowned upon by society, it has become the crux of the sport. Part of the reason that handrails are so appealing to skateboarders is their dangerous nature. If a skater falls on a handrail, there is a possibility of being injured. This creates a scarcity of skateboarders who are willing to jump onto handrails.

Anther type of terrain that is very popular in skateboarding is known as a gap. Gaps can come in many different forms. One of the most common types of gaps is the common stair set. Many skateboarders are jumping down stair sets with their skateboards. However gaps can come in many different forms. For instance, if there is a large grass gap that provides space for a skateboarder to jump down, this type of terrain will popularly be pursued by skateboarders. Skateboarders such as Gershon Mosely have made gaps popular in the skateboard world.

Another type of terrain that skateboarders typically use in known as a ledge. A ledge is a cement structure that skateboarders usually use to "grind." Ledges are one of the most popular types of structures to skate. However it is possible for skateboarders to damage ledges by grinding the metal part of their boards on the ledges. As a result, many towns are opposed to skateboarders skateboarding on ledges. Rodney Mullen is a skateboarder who made skating ledges very popular.
