About American Football

Association football, also called just football or soccer, is an inter-block ball sport played between two teams of eleven players. It is widely played throughout the world by about 250 million players in more than 200 countries and administrations, making it the most popular sport in the world. The game is characterized by short periods of play lasting only about 90 minutes. Although the game is widely played throughout the world, there are two widely recognized divisions of football: American football (NFL) and European soccer (soccer or Ligue de France). The difference between the two is the nationality of the players participating. American football is played between two teams with each team composed entirely of players from the US, while European soccer is played between teams from Europe. Since there are currently two separate leagues in the US and Europe, American football is sometimes referred to as the National League Football (NDF) and European football is sometimes called European football.

During the years before the World War II, football evolved from being a form of American football played between two teams to becoming a professional sport that is played in Europe. The English premiership football tournament, the Cup, was first held in London in the year 18ola. The competition eventually moved to the US, where it became known as soccer, and the European game came to be known as European football. Unlike soccer, American football does not have a ball except for the goalposts. The goalposts are usually high and in normal play, the football is played high, wide and high like in soccer. The two teams take turns attacking the ball, while the defense tries to prevent the other team from scoring. Each team has five players on each side of the field. The game usually begins with the offense gathering the ball, which is passed from one player to another player, until the ball reaches the safety or end-line.

The object of the game is for the team to get the ball into the goal at the opposing end-line. The object is also to kick the ball over the goal-post and try to convert the kick into a point, by either getting the ball into the net or through an extra point or touchdown. There are other variations of football played around the world, but the basic rules of the game are largely the same. Regardless of what kind of football is being played, the end goal is the same.
