Noida: “I on behalf of ICMEI, Media & Entertainment Industry and complete art and cultural fraternity of India extend my heartiest congratulations to H.E. Ali Chegeni the Ambassador of Iran to India and people of Iran on the auspicious day of their National Day falls on 1st April,” said Sandeep Marwah President of International Chamber of Media And Entertainment Industry and Chancellor of AAFT University of Media and Arts.
The Indo Iran Film And Cultural Forum of ICMEI has brought people of two countries close to each other through art and culture under the leadership of Sandeep Marwah. Large number of events have been planned now and then to showcase the depth of relationship between the two countries.
In February 1979, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini returned to Iran after 15 years in exile and led the campaign to overthrow the Shah of Iran. Two months later, the new government held a referendum on establishing the Islamic Republic based on a new constitution replacing the Persian monarchy that had ruled for 2,500 years.
On 12 Farvardin, the results of the referendum were announced with 98.2% of the Iranian people voting in favour of an Islamic Republic. The month of Farvardin is determined by the vernal equinox. If the equinox falls on March 21st, Farvardin 12 is on April 1st.
