The AI in FIFA 16 remains quick-witted and aggressive

The AI in FIFA 16 remains quick-witted and aggressive, though the same does not always hold true for your team. Often it is up to you to go and chase down a ball that is open, as your team members show a lack of willingness to dash alongside opposing players. Relying too much on your team members means your ball will be stolen, passes are botched, and even the occasional off-side.coininfifa   The time of year has finally arrived for Electronic Arts to unveil its latest edition of its association football/soccer series. It's also the time of year when we justify plunking down a large sum of cash on an annual basis for a copy of said game. Each year it's a gamble: did EA deliver a better game and experience from last year's edition? Or did we all just willy-nilly toss our money away in exchange for an updated roster?

FIFA 16 plays differently in the middle of the park thanks to improvements in player interception. Gone are the days of slaloming through a back four, and instead there is a return to the slow build, tactical chess-match feel of other football games. One example being me coming out of defence with Marcelo at left back, but I'd hit a dead end around half way and needed to pass backwards. In FIFA 15, you'd need to take at least two dribble touches to turn your player 360 degrees, or you'd have to play a reverse pass or back-heel. With No Touch Dribbling you can (while the ball is still rolling) move around to the side of the ball to simply pass backwards from a more natural body position. It sounds almost too simple, like "so what", but I'm really intrigued to see how the community use this feature when it's out in the wild. It's certainly going to require some time and experimentation to get the best from it.

The only downsides that we found while playing FIFA 16 is that the commentary still remains awkward like in the previous versions, with numerous situations in which the commentators speak about things that aren’t really accurate in regards to what happens in the field. Also, FIFA 15 places a lot of emphasis in the exciting football and thus has a problem in providing a long term depth. FIFA 16 fans are angrily threatening to boycott the 2016 version if Jordan Henderson wins the vote to appear on the front cover. Career Mode has always been one of the most-played game modes on FIFA, and will continue to be so in the next instalment.

Most people will usually start off with a big club, just to get the feel of the game, find out how the scouting system works and how the players actually play in the matches. Gameplay changes are sometimes barely more than tweaks, but sometimes the sheer scale of changes sends the FIFA community into crisis mode. Star man Danny Ings will leave, Ashley Barnes is set to miss most of the season through injury, leaving Sam Vokes as their only senior striker. So getting Burnley back into the Premier League could be a struggle in itself, but the real aim should be to keep them there. It sounds like FIFA 16 defenders will do a better job of tracking fast-paced players. Pace, FIFA 16 players will know, was perhaps the most influential offensive attribute in last year's game, so this is good news. Rutter said defenders will hold a better shape, so will be able to break down attacks more often. There's also better interception intelligence, which should go some way to combating those annoying through balls. If you read our review of FIFA 16 and followed my musings about it on Twitter, you’ll know I didn’t really like it.

Compared to previous FIFA, where you could play a good game of football, it was disappointing in almost every single department. The keepers were erratic at best, shooting was flat and defending was near enough possible to do well, unless you constantly switched players and moved them around. A huge contributor this was the fact that the game was horribly skewed toward pace, meaning any quick player was essentially a beast in FIFA 16. This meant midfield play and the actual building up of moves (you know, actual football) was near enough impossible. Plus, the game just felt too loose, without any real weight whatsoever. I’m quickly pointing these things out because after getting hands-on with FIFA 16, I can say the majority of the issues have been addressed. I found that I could actually play good, passing football and the midfield wasn’t just a space on the pitch to run into with quick players.MORE:http://www.coininfifa.co/
