Delicious Beef Karahi Recipe

Posted by Caroline Rosy on April 12th, 2021

The beef karahi recipe originated in Kerala, India and is mainly prepared using aromatic spices like coriander leaves, cloves, anise, cardamom and fennel. Coriander leaves and cloves are the all-time favourites when it comes to training this famous Indian cuisine. They have a distinct flavour of their own and have great medicinal benefits. Anise and cardamom also impart a wonderful aroma to the beef karahi recipe. Cardamom has a spicy taste, but it serves as an effective digestive aid that eliminates toxins from the body. Cloves are rich in vitamin C, and iron and have been used traditionally to treat several health conditions, including flatulence, gastritis and heartburns.

The beef karahi recipe needs to be cooked on a charcoal fire or an electric frying pan. This recipe can also be seasoned with spices like cumin, asafetida, and rock salt to enhance its taste. This recipe can be made more nutritious by incorporating lean beef or chicken instead of the traditional meat. Some people who enjoy eating beef most prefer to prepare it without the heart to add vegetables to the mix or other fruits like mangoes or avocados. Whatever you do, make sure to keep this delicious recipe in the pantry of your kitchen so that you have a ready supply of beef gosht whenever you want to entertain guests at home.

It would help if you softened the beef karahi recipe by browning it in a pan or stove. After browning the meat:

  1. Add onions, ginger, garlic, spices, coriander leaves and turmeric.
  2. Allow the mixture to blend well.
  3. Add the dry coconut milk and let the mixture steep for around 15 minutes so that all the ingredients are mixed well and the liquid thickens.
  4. Strain into another container and heat it.
  5. Let the mixture cool down before serving it.
