Indian Import Data – To find Profitable Markets in India

Among the trading partners mentioned in the WCO’s list, India is also regarded as one of the most important countries.  It serves a great role in foreign trade exchange with the worldwide countries and imports goods from them. Though being a trade deficit country, India import data shows that the country has shown a huge jump in the percentage of around 52.9 in 2021 when compared to the previous year. It has set a record in March with 48.12 US dollars. The reason behind acclaiming this country as a trade deficit country is because it is not self-reliant in terms of technology, crude oil, and life-saving machines, and gold.

Import export data of India stated that the total value which the country could make in 2019 was approx. 9 billion. It had a decline in the total imports by 6% in 2019 when compared to that of 2018. This South-Asian country India is considered a major importer of mineral fuels and oils. Among the top importers of the world, India ranks at the tenth position. The import data based upon which this analysis is done provides information that is related to the trade condition of India and shipment history. It provides data on different fields including a description of the product, foreign country name, date, HSN code, unit, quantity, port name, and many more. After mineral fuels and oils of 2.6 billion imports, India imports precious stones & pearls of .9 billion, industrial machinery of .5 billion, electronics of .8 billion, and organic chemicals of .5 billion, and so on.

From the trade data of India, it could be seen that the most demanded product of the country was mineral fuel and oil. And the product which was less in demand as fertilizer. Among its trading partners, China has always taken the first position in trading relations. It recorded with a share of around 14.3%. This country is then followed by the USA with a 7.3% share, UAE with 6.3%, and so on.

Indian import data present that it has all the important seaports like Nhavasheva, Delhi Tuglakabaad, Bombay Port Trust, etc. Other than these, Chennai Sea, Delhi Air cargo, Bangalore Air cargo, are also present. Among these, the Bangalore Import Data is collected from the lading bills of customs. It shows the products that are imported to Bangalore, their shipping date, name of importers, price, quantity, HS code, etc. As per the reports of 2016, the Bangalore import data shows that materials like lock washer, screws have been imported from China, cobalt powder from Japan, and many more machinery items from different countries.
