Wipe spills with regular water when they happen to help prevent stains. You may need to clean your homogeneous PVC flooring roll more thoroughly about once a week. First, vacuum or dry mop the vinyl floor to remove sprinkle, hair, and dirt. Then you can move on to a wet mop and a cleaning solution. Commercial PVC floor cleaners are available, but you can make an effective cleaner for vinyl floors by mixing apple cider vinegar and water. The vinegar’s acidity eliminates dirt without leaving a soapy film. You need to mix one cup of cider vinegar with a gallon of warm water. Then, use a damp mop to apply to the vinyl floor, rinsing the mop frequently with clean, warm water from another bucket or your sink. For more cleaning power, add a few drops of liquid dishwashing soap to the hot water and vinegar mixture. Wipe first with the soap mixture and then mop with the water and vinegar mixture.

How Can You Clean Scuffs And Stains?

There are some fantastic tips on how to clean a dirty vinyl floor. You can remove marks or stains from acidic substances like tomato sauce, fruit juice, ketchup, or wine with a baking soda paste and water. You can rub the paste on the vinyl floor with a soft towel until the stain lifts. Then clean the baking soda off the PVC floor with a vinegar and water solution.

You can apply to rub alcohol to the spot and scrub with a soft-bristle brush for tough marks from paint, lipstick, crayons, or ink. Never use steel wool or more abrasive brushes as they can scratch the floor. For nail polish stains on vinyl sheets, use nail polish remover.
