game developer will take the lead for the ?Final Fantasy VII? remake

Posted by Cassandra27 on July 28th, 2015

The “Final Fantasy VII” remake was revealed at E3 earlier this year and already pre-orders are availalble for the title. Much more surprisingly, retailers Amazon and EBGames.com have the game listed as releasing Dec. 31, 2016.

We obviously know the 2016 date is a placeholder, but shows some significance. The year associated with the placeholder dates have been accurate more often than not in the past. It’s also worth noting that when a game is posted across multiple sites around the same time it usually the doing of the publisher, reports Game Revolution.

Even more EBGames has both a PS4 and Xbox One version up for pre-order, which lines up with the multiplatform yet “PlayStation first” nature of the game. Many gamers have been wondering how long PlayStation will have exclusivity over the title, but of course Square Enix has been silent about the situation.

Meanwhile, Japanese game developer Tetsuya Nomura will take the lead for the “Final Fantasy VII” remake. Nomura stated that “FFVII” will not just be an HD version of the title but reassured fans that he will respect the original game, leaving the vital parts intact. He also stated that the title will take some time to complete so the Q4 2016 release seems legitimate.

Additionally, the director said there will be no new characters introduced in the remake and they are working to make the visual displays closer to reality. Square Enix has just announced their Final Fantasy XV schedule at the upcoming Gamescom 2015 which will kick off this coming August 5 for the huge European show.Just last month, Square Enix has made an announcement that they will release more details about Final Fantasy XV in Gamescom 2015, in promotion to its upcoming game release.

At the Gamescom 2015, the attendees will be able to witness “Let’s Play,” which is a daily stage show of Final Fantasy XV’s second demo, known as Episode Duscae 2.0. Famous YouTube or Twitch personalities will be on stage for a live commentary, and to share new insights into the game. Nova Crytallis named the streaming hosts for the event such as Nino and HoneyballLP of NinotakuTv, Gregor of Rocketbeans TV, Mit Gronkh, and Pietsmiet team.
As noted in Push Square, Square Enix plans to play the Episode Duscae demo for more than 17 times at the European games expo. The live demos will last for two hours, and will run from August 5 to 9. Game Spot has mentioned though, that those who will attend the event might be lucky, and be able to have the chance to try Final Fantasy XV Episode Duscae 2.0 in their gaming stations.
Aside from the Episode Duscae 2.0 demo, other activities lined up by Square Enix include distributing free gifts; Q & A session with the game’s development team where they will answer questions fans asked online, and announcements on the latest information about Final Fantasy XV, in their exclusive Active Time Report. Active Time Reports are small panels where the development team updates the expo attendees on the details about their featured game.
Square Enix will make further announcements regarding their participation at the expo real soon. As of press time, they haven’t revealed yet Final Fantasy XV’s release date, but expect to know more information about it at the upcoming Gamescom 2015.\
