COVID-19 has affected our lives very drastically. Be it on a personal level or from a business perspective. People have a hard time coming back in the market and it has affected every sector in it’s own way.

This ongoing pandemic is far from over and every working individual worries about job security. With the changing environment many businesses have already taken the route on the online work environment but to some B2B businesses which deal in physical goods, it is still a difficult time to figure out the mode of operations.

While online revenue in most industries has dipped by 74%, some sectors like health & beauty have grown by 19.28%. Businesses that deliver food and products to residences have also flourished. Physical businesses will need to invest in new disinfection processes that maintain hygiene. This could mean hand-washing, temperature checks, or introducing PPE. With this the workplaces have to be redesigned with proper sanitisation policies and having cleaning services and proper temperature checking machines.

With reopening of businesses there are a few things that every business should adapt to which will help in the long run with this pandemic. Individualisation of work should be given a priority. With fewer group tasks and fewer shared desks. Rotational shifts should be given priority and also separate working stations should be considered as a must. This will ensure less human contact and will somewhat ensure social distancing.

Remote working environment should also be endorsed as an employee can work from the comfort of their home and this will maintain hygiene and social distancing norms. As economies reopen, many companies plan to combine remote work with time in the office to get the best mix of productivity and collaboration. Remote working was made easier as tools like Microsoft Teams, Gustie, Zoom, and Slack.

A reopening won’t mean reverting to old ways. The economy is different, employees have adapted to new ways of working, and your customers have new concerns and expectations. These changes may be here to stay.

With pandemic, many businesses crashed down because this was an unforeseen circumstance and nobody was prepared for this. But with this many businesses have also come into notice that are operating virtually and providing the services. Many new businesses have also emerged as people find new ways to tackle the pandemic and put resources like money into a good direction.
