Six Sigma and Lean Six Sigma have a lot in common because they more or less address the same issues. Both Six Sigma and Lean Six Sigma are used for process improvements. Initially used in manufacturing processes, both these process improvement methodologies are used in processes in almost all the business sectors now. Visit any large company and you will find that they use Six Sigma and Lean in some process or the other. However, to be able to work on a Six Sigma project, the least you need is a Six Sigma green belt certification. For lean projects, you need a Lean Six Sigma green belt certification. Later on, you may be eligible for a LSS black belt training and get your black belt too.

Getting your Lean Six Sigma green belt certification can be a challenging task. In most cases, organizations sponsor their employees to go through Six Sigma training and certification. The challenge here is to manage the balance between work and studies. You cannot take your Six Sigma training in a frivolous manner. Once your training gets started, you need to attend your classes regularly and also work on sample projects and project charters. Remember that when you opt for training from a top institute, it will be a master black belt who will take you through the program. And pleasing a master black belt is not easy.

As far as LSS black belt training is concerned, you need to put in more effort. First of all, you need to be eligible for a black belt training program. This can only happen when you have successfully led green belt projects and have earned your reputation as a problem solver. You need to understand the philosophies and principles of Six Sigma and this includes the understanding of the supporting tools and systems. You have to have demonstrated team leading abilities and should have thorough knowledge of all the aspects of DMAIC.

Getting your Lean Six Sigma belt is a gradual process. You cannot suddenly become a black belt. The first stage is getting your yellow belt. This will be followed by your Lean Six Sigma green belt certification. Then you will need to work on various Six Sigma projects before you become eligible for your LSS black belt training.

If your organization nominates you for Lean Six Sigma green belt certification or LSS black belt training, it is highly possible that you will have your colleagues attending the same training. This training can then be conducted in your office. Apart from the fact that you will enjoy learning along with your colleagues, you will also find a sense of harmony getting built. Otherwise, you may have to attend classes with strangers who, in no time, will become your friends and help you during the learning phase.

Get your Lean Six Sigma green belt certification or LSS black belt training completed and you can have a great career. There is no limit to where you can reach once you are Six Sigma certified.

It is best for you when you are nominated by your organization for Lean Six Sigma green belt certification or LSS black belt training.
