Useful tips to name your dog

There are a few points to be aware of during the name selecting process along with choosing something that you really like.

  1. Choose names that end with a vowel sound because such names easily gain the attention of dogs.
  2. Stick to a short and sweet name, ideally with two syllables. This helps dogs to easily identify and respond to the name.
  3. Do not choose names that sound similar to command words. For instance, your dog might get confused with ‘No’ and ‘Joe’.
  4. In case you have another pet, make sure the names sound significantly different or else you might have the wrong one running up to you.
  5. In case you buy an adult dog that already has a name, then stick to it as they may not respond to a new name.

Choosing the perfect name for your dog might take time and with the million possible names, you might be really confused.

If you like, you could stick to the basics and choose a common and effective name or come up with an interesting name of your own.
