Kobalt 24v Extended Run Warranty Replacement Experience, leaf blower and trimmerPosted by Maxwell Nygaard on April 28th, 2021 [, Music, ], hey guys, matt here so today, i'm doing a kind of a review. Slash a warranty claim, video on a cobalt 24 volt max extended run battery. So we got this as a kit on 4 11 of 2019 bought it at lowe's. They carry all the cobalt products, but got it as part of a kit of two things: got it as a blower and got the trimmer that come with it. I'Ll hold it up here. So you can see. The kit came with those two items: the blower and the trimmer, and came with one battery which i'm i'm pretty surprised. It came with one battery. You would think you have two two items that should come with two batteries, but it didn't so it was reasonable price. I think it was on uh uh yeah. It was a spring sale. If i remember right so it was like - i don't remember - maybe forty percent off or thirty percent off. So that's why we went with that plus uh cobalt products. You can supposedly return to lowe's store and get a replacement, then in there, rather than have to send it off and deal with all that junk. So we figured we'd, give it a try and see. We'Ve got uh quite a few trimmers and blowers and stuff in the past, mainly all gas, but can work with them for an extended amount of time, and you don't have to worry about battery dying, but on the downside of that is they often have cheap carburetors. That are constantly having issues and problems and need repair, so i decided to go with electric: give it a go and see how it went so long story short, so the battery no longer works. It holds a charge for maybe 10 minutes. If that, after fully charging on either the trimmer or the blower, not enough to trim or blow the yard have to do part of it charged up, takes about 45 minutes and then do the other part. I do have a gas trimmer though, but not a gas blower so anyway, today's video is going to be, like, i said, on a warranty replacement, i'm going to go lowe's here in a bit and see how the experience goes with their warranty. I bought it like. I said: there's the date on there: it's a three year warranty on the battery and a five year warranty on the tool itself and i believe a three year warranty on the chargers. Well, i'd have to double check that, but i always package all of my warranties up. If they have more than you know, a 10-day warranty or 30-day warranty, i package them up put them in the basement like this in a ziploc bag, so keep them in order, and you can find them because things always go out and i think the warranty companies Expect you not to keep the warranties and proof of purchase so that you can't return it. You can't get a refund, you can't get in exchange. I don't know if that's true, but it seems like it is. So i'm going to insert a picture here of my warranty tote in the basement, it's kind of funny, because my wife always picks on me about my warranty tote. But it has oftentimes come in handy more than we would think in that we're able to get free replacements, return it or get an exchange. You know and resolve the issue, whereas if we didn't have the warranty tote, we wouldn't have proof purchase and therefore you're kind of on your on your own luck. Unfortunately, so i am going to head to lowe's with my battery and see how the warranty replacement goes, and i will be back with you okay guys, so i just got back from lowe's. It was the easiest warranty replacement ever so i'm definitely a fan of cobalt. Now i've never had used their warranty service or warranty exchange. Anything like that before i. I don't have many things that are cobalt uh, but i think i will be um a returning customer to them now and then this is the new battery in package still um. So, basically, to get the replacement. All i did was walk in uh to lowe's, told the young lady at the counter that i was there and needed to uh exchange a battery or get a warranty claim on a cobalt battery, and she said: okay, perfect. That'S super easy pulled out. Uh, like a three ring, binder type thing: it's uh like laminated index cards. I guess they have of all the cobalt products that they carry she scanned. It said: okay, if you want to go, find the same product that you have and bring it back up here, i'll complete the transaction for you. I went grab this new one brought it back. She said: okay, perfect, wrote down the date that i originally purchased. The first one wrote down the date that i came in to get the replacement as the warranty claim that way she can turn into her manager. I would assume and also into cobalt i would assume uh for reimbursement on their end, and she said: okay, perfect have a good day, so that was super. Easy replacement, uh really happy with it, both on cobalt's uh part as well as on lowe's part um. Both of them are great, so if me is looking for a cobalt leaf, blower or trimmer, i would definitely recommend it like. I said this came as a package. It was a leaf blower, also a trimmer. It came with one battery which i wish it would have. Came with two, but that's probably why it was cheaper the package that they had, they didn't offer it with two batteries at the time. I don't know if they do now. I don't believe so, but it's still a great deal and the battery has a three year. Warranty on it and i wrote down on the old receipt when i turned when i got the warranty exchange, rather so that i should have a three year warranty on this one as well, which, if you break it down these new, are at lowe's, 59 dollars and Change so 60 dollars to make the math easy three year warranty that's 20 a year to provide power to leaf blower and trimmer. You know, i i think that's a pretty good bargain. Rather than sweeping you know all your steps, your garage, your driveway, your back porch! All that you know sweeping it with a leaf blower is a lot easier than sweeping it by hand or getting a gas one and spending the time and energy getting gas. Mixing the gas up getting the gas oil mixture together messing with carburetors, because those break down every couple years it seems like so all in all. home think this is a great product and i think it's a great bargain, even if the battery only lasted three years. It'S unfortunate that this one only lasted a year, but they have a great warranty and they seem to stand behind their product uh. So i have no complaints.
